Founded in 1968, Microwave Engineering Corporation (MEC) is located in Andover, Massachusetts, USA. It manufactures high power, broadband passive components and waveguides for microwave and EW, ECM and communication systems. The product lines cover the frequency spectrum from 0.1 to 100 GHz including rectangular, ridged and circular waveguide, both rigid and flexible; coaxial transmission lines; stripline and antennas.
In 1992, MEC acquired Datron's Tech Systems, also known as Technicraft in Thomaston, Connecticut. Tech Systems was a leading supplier of waveguide assemblies for the military and commercial markets, specializing in flexible waveguide including seamless, twistable and side seam. MEC continues to fabricate, support and expand all of Technicraft's products. In 2002 MEC acquired SierraCom, a division of Sierra Networks, Inc, which developed and manufactured a broad array of passive microwave components and subsystems for the United States military. They cater to defense OEMS such as BAE, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
